Little Missenden Vent Shaft -
Consultation

The new HeadHouse from the A413

See this page for details of the consultation, which ends on Sunday 20th November. The "Display Boards" describe all aspects of the design, which in this instance is a boring box, not an icon in sight. The survey allows you to order 6 objectives (chosen by Align/HS2) by importance - use the comment fields to add anything they have overlooked.

Little Missenden Roundabout

Proposed Roundabout - Highmore Cottages - Keepers Lane

Little Missenden Parish Council have written a strongly worded letter to the Bucks Council Chief Executive indicating the community anger at proposals to build a roundabout outside Little Missenden as a solution to a road transport safety issue they denied existed with the LM Vent Shaft location. Included with this letter are letters of support from the Heads of Schools in Little Missenden and Hyde Heath indicating concerns as regards safety, rat running, noise, light pollution etc. We were promised further consultation with the HS2 contractor (Align) to seek a solution that does not impact the community but it would seem Align have decided to ride roughshod over the community and press ahead.

The roundabout is not considered as an objective to be consulted on, so when responding to the Construction page you may wish to comment on

  • Unassessed impacts related to increased noise, dust and light pollution.
  • No traffic impact assessment
  • The roundabout will introduce significant safety risks to school children and cyclists from Rat Running which the proposal will encourage.
  • The accident history of this section of the A413 is far less than sections at Chilterns Hospital and Pipers Wood which are alternatives proposed by the Parish which would not generate rat running or safety risks to the communities of Little Missenden and Hyde Heath.
  • Little Missenden PC had assurances from Bucks Council that Little Missenden and Hyde Heath would be unaffected by the works.
